Talking to Terrorists, the eagerly awaited Irish premiere from the award winning Calypso Productions, is a powerful and unique journey into the realms of documentary theatre. Never afraid to tackle the unpalatable side of life, Calypso’s production of Soan’s critically-acclaimed play is guaranteed to grip Dublin audiences. Talking to Terrorists interweaves verbatim testimonies from a range of people whose lives have been directly affected by terrorism and gives audiences an insight in to the hearts and minds of former combatants, politicians, a diplomat, a senior army officer, journalist, relief worker, members of the public and victims all of whom are drawn in to a debate, which has changed the lives of so many. A cast of eight will play twenty nine roles for this production and take you on a journey around the globe from London, Belfast, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Turkey and the Middle East in search of the truth. Talking to Terrorists has been described as an unmissable piece of theatre and an unforgettable experience . The title of the play is drawn from a quote from former Northern Ireland Secretary, Mo Mowlam who stated talking to terrorists is the only way to beat them.
