ANC press release

no mention of the police shooting dead 34 strikers

no mention of the invoking of ‘doctrine of common purpose’ apartheid era law where 270 strikers were charged with the murder of the 34 the police had gunned down. (charges later dropped by the police because the lunacy of such a law that the ANC so hated in the 60s, 70s & 80s being used against the workers movement that is traditionally supportive of the ANC)

mentions ‘replacement of unions with committees formed around issues’

mentions centralised bargaining avoided by bosses industry wide, so who is in power in South Africa?

But there is mention of ‘conflict to reverse the gains achieved by workers’ while admitting that previously ‘the workforce was dismissed and selectively re-employed on lesser conditions’ so no gains there then.
