tcm/iol reports – Bypass workers mount unofficial strike over lack of wages
Workers on the Ennis bypass have mounted a lightning strike this morning, saying they haven’t been paid for almost two weeks.
The unofficial action is being taken by Irish and Polish workers employed by Gama Construction.
The company claims the lack of payment is a result of banking difficulties.
Bank of Ireland has confirmed that its systems have crashed as a result of the bad weather and says it is working to ensure the workers get paid today.
