when I see those shows that show old TV, and I get that shiver because the TV of yesterday year was so bad, well I got that feeling tonight, but I was watching TV made in 2005 for prime time drama on a national TV station.
Fair City (or Fairly Shitty as its called); does anyone agree the acting is wooden, disjointed non fluid cardboard cutout cue card scanning crap. I am not a TV critic, I am not an actor, the hams on screen that I feel are below standard are better than me. But Irish actors, on TV need more camera exposure before they suddenly are on prime time in a anchor soap. Most smoothie jocks on Irish radio have been broken in on Irish pirate radio which is the nursery of talent for the big stations of tomorrow, Ryan Fanning and all the young blood (like Jenny Huston) on Nationwide Irish radio didn’t suddenly just get casted into the spotlight like ‘bunnies in the head lights’.
Lets have Pirate TV! lets have cable TV (7 channels max please) lets have better writers that don’t turn bin protester characters into racists in 3 or 4 episodes.
Otherwise the only people with on camera experience will be the male & female bimbos from the grab a grand channels on $ky digital, now that is real experience, honest hard graft, gift of the gab, think on yer feet experience, you, the live camera an open mike and no £2 per minute phone callers guessing its Britney ( I can see 95% of her face ).
Demand better TV or turn it off and listen to some good old radio.
