Is beaumont smaller than galway?
1980 (no tiger) 17,665 hospital beds for a population of 3 million
2005 (go tiger go; away) 11,000 hospital beds according to HSE; population 4 million
all this while the stay in bed dropped from 9.7 to 6.6 days per patient, more patients in less beds, higher productivity. but its not nuts & bolts, these are people, Gleeson was right, shoot yourself in the head if you vote for the existing Govt. make you own way to the hospital trolley to bleed to death. Don’t compare us with our nearest neighbour, lets open the beds and ask Fidel for some trained doctors.
