Bebo appoints Rachell O’Connell chief safety officer

[from netimperative.com] Social networking site Bebo has appointed Dr Rachel O’Connell as its new chief safety officer.

O’Connell will report directly to CEO, Michael Birch and will focus on the area of Corporate & Social Responsibility for the company in the US and Europe.

She will be leaving her current position as Director of the Cyberspace Research Centre, part of the Department for Forensic and Investigative Science at the University of Central Lancashire (UK), to join Bebo on 17 July 2006.

Having launched just eleven months ago in July 2005, Bebo operates in the UK, Ireland, and New Zealand, US, Australia and Canada, with a total of 25 million registered members turning 3 billion monthly page views worldwide.
