It was the first major hit for <a title=\"Island Records\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Island_Records\">Island Records<\/a> (although it was actually released via <a title=\"Fontana Records\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fontana_Records\">Fontana Records<\/a> because Blackwell did not want to overextend Island&#8217;s then-meager resources), and Small was the first artist to have a hit that was recorded in the so-called &#8220;<a title=\"Bluebeat\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bluebeat\">bluebeat<\/a>&#8221; style.
