Almost 3 months. The absence makes the heart grow fonder or the chase is better than the kill. <br \/><br \/>My Pi5 will live beside my Pi3 until Pi5 does all the media \/ data crunching tasks that the Pi3 does. I skipped Pi4 when I learned that is was not much better than the Pi3 at doing DTT TV things with the Pi Hat for digital TV. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/briangreene.com\/bhg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Pi5-speedtest.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/briangreene.com\/bhg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Pi5-speedtest-1024x380.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3873\" srcset=\"https:\/\/briangreene.com\/bhg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Pi5-speedtest-1024x380.png 1024w, https:\/\/briangreene.com\/bhg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Pi5-speedtest-300x111.png 300w, https:\/\/briangreene.com\/bhg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Pi5-speedtest-768x285.png 768w, https:\/\/briangreene.com\/bhg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Pi5-speedtest-600x223.png 600w, https:\/\/briangreene.com\/bhg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Pi5-speedtest.png 1037w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Pi5 runs hotter than Pi3 and it has a built in (in case) fan that will run when the core temp is very high. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pi3 on ethernet cable had a max download of 100Mbit\/s. The Pi5 is in the gigabit era where I am getting 900+Mbits\/s on download and upload is maxed at 100Mbits\/s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Pi boards run headless with control to them over VNC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I need to get back to some bigger beast servers too which are in handover stage of moving data and services to the newer machine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>   <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Pi 5 I ordered on October 1st arrived December 28th.
