calls for European Parliament to revoke credentials <br \/>from Israeli embassy <\/p>\n<p \/> \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Claudia Saba (Irish Ship to Gaza organiser) details <br \/>conditions facing people in Gaza <\/p>\n<p \/> Speaking in Strasbourg at a European Parliament press conference about <br \/>his week-long detention in Israel, Irish Socialist Party (GUE\/NGL) MEP <br \/>Paul Murphy today warned Israel that its attempts to intimidate <br \/>anti-Gaza blockade activists would not be successful and called on EU <br \/>authorities to respond to such impunity. <\/p>\n<p \/> &#8220;I am calling for the suspension of the EU-Israel association <br \/>agreement and have written to the president of the European Parliament <br \/>to demand the revocation of the credentials of the Israeli embassy <br \/>staff from this institution.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p \/> Along with other Freedom Wave Flotilla to Gaza activists aboard two <br \/>boats, Murphy was arrested on November 4 and finally released last <br \/>Friday. <\/p>\n<p \/> &#8220;From the moment our boat was violently invaded by Israeli forces in <br \/>international waters, we were illegally detained, repeatedly <br \/>strip-searched, denied outside contact, sleep-deprived and had our <br \/>possessions stolen.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p \/> &#8220;In prison, the conditions we were kept in were very poor but were <br \/>nothing like the conditions faced by the Palestinians who are <br \/>incarcerated by the Israeli regime in the open-air prison that is <br \/>Gaza,&#8221;
