{"id":136,"date":"2005-06-10T14:31:00","date_gmt":"2005-06-10T13:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.briangreene.com\/bhg\/?p=136"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T23:00:00","slug":"what-women-dont-want","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briangreene.com\/bhg\/2005\/what-women-dont-want\/","title":{"rendered":"what women don&#8217;t want"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p>The High Court has ruled that Portmarnock golf club in Dublin is not discriminating against women by not allowing them to become members.<\/p>\n<p>In a ruling this morning, Mr Justice O&#8217;Higgins dismissed the action taken by the Equality Authority against the club.<\/p>\n<p>Women are allowed to play the course, with or without accompanying male members, on payment of green fees.<br \/>&#8212;<br \/>I have decided to  discriminate against myself as a member of the working class. I have decided that I will not play golf in Portmarnock (10 minutes from me house) because the chip on me shoulder affects me swing so badly I should be banned from all greens &amp; fairways, for life.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the High Court could investigate if children in North County Dublin are discriminated against, as there are more Golf Clubs than playgrounds in Fingal.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both; padding-bottom: 0.25em;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The High Court has ruled that Portmarnock golf club in Dublin is not discriminating against women by not allowing them to become members.
